Meet The Team

Avaneesh Marwaha - CEO

Avaneesh Marwaha - CEO

As CEO, Avaneesh is responsible for leading Litera as we continue to grow in market impact and influence. He drives our entire team to deliver truly leading-edge solutions for our customers, and he challenges our team to improve every function across our business. In his prior role, Avaneesh served as the chief operating officer of Nexonia. During his tenure, he was instrumental in the company’s expansion to become a multinational company, while increasing customer focus and streamlining product development. Previously, he served as the chief operating officer of Keno Kozie, where he doubled the size and revenues of the organization in just three years. Avaneesh’s diverse experience in the legal profession makes him a perfect fit to lead Litera through our next stage of growth. Earlier in his career, he was a practicing attorney, general counsel and entrepreneur. He leveraged this experience selling to law firms, ranging from small regional firms to the Am Law 100. Avaneesh earned his JD degree from the Valparaiso University School of Law and completed a bachelor’s degree in biology from Bradley University. He is an active member of the legal and local community, serving on several local, national and professional boards.

Brittani Shaw - Chief People Officer

Brittani Shaw - Chief People Officer

As chief people officer, Brittani oversees all aspects of the Human Resources function, including talent acquisition, learning and development, employee relations, talent management, compensation and benefits. She is focused on cultivating a positive work environment to ensure our people are engaged and have an enjoyable employee experience. Brittani has more than 10 years of experience in the Chicago start up tech scene building Education & Development, Recruiting, and Human Resources Teams from the ground up. In previous positions, Brittani helped move Echo from the private to the public sector and has been involved in M&A activity with multiple organizations including Echo, Centro and here at Litera. Brittani has a M.A. in Organizational Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.

Rahul Miglani - Chief Technology Officer

Rahul Miglani - Chief Technology Officer

As chief technology officer, Rahul is responsible for charting the company’s future technology roadmap while accelerating solutions development. He focuses on the operation of the product development team and on fostering of innovative solutions to meet customer needs. He serves as a key member of the management team that sets the company’s strategic direction. Rahul has extensive experience in bringing solutions, that positively affect the bottom line, to market while scaling high performing teams. He brings familiarity across a spectrum of situations, including developing strategic roadmaps, leading and integrating M&A and delivering high quality products. Prior to joining Latera, Rahul worked in product and technology leadership positions at fast growing companies such as Syndigo, Market6, and ShopperTrak. Rahul has an MBA from the University of Notre Dame and prior Computer Science degrees from the University of Illinois, Chicago and Nagpur University, India.

Haley Altman - Global Head of Corporate Development

Haley Altman - Global Head of Corporate Development

As Global Head of Corporate Development, Haley Altman is responsible for strategic business initiatives and its merger and acquisition efforts. She also partners with various business units across the company on market development opportunities to strengthen how customers engage with the Litera brand and overall product suite. Prior to the company’s acquisition by Litera, Haley was founder and CEO of Doxly. She has over a decade of experience working on complicated transactions in the corporate, private equity, and venture capital verticals. Her practice has extended from the Midwest at Ice Miller to the West Coast at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati. Haley previously served as a member of the finance committee and co-led the venture capital vertical at Ice Miller. She holds a J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law and obtained a BA, Chemistry and Political Science while a science research fellow focusing on cancer research at DePauw University in Indiana.

Jason Vander Meer - Managing Directory, Litigation

Jason Vander Meer - Managing Directory, Litigation

As managing director of litigation with Litera, Jason is responsible for the growth, strategy, and positioning of litigation solutions for Litera. Before joining the product team with Litera in 2017, Jason served as director of product management at Eze Software Group and oversaw the successful delivery and adoption of electronic trading products in the financial services industry. Jason has filled prior product roles at Barclays and Lehman Brothers, leading teams that deliver high-speed trading networks and high-volume trade analytic tools. He graduated from Grand Valley State University in Michigan and received his master’s in information system management from DePaul University in Chicago.

Jody Cosgrove - CCO

Jody Cosgrove - CCO

As the chief customer officer at Litera, Jody is responsible for driving successful outcomes for our customers and overseeing the company’s annual recurring revenue business. As an executive team member, she is recognized for building a strong, self-managed team and defining a repeatable process that sustains growth in our fast-changing business environment. She is additionally responsible for overseeing specific business unit operations for our core drafting solutions, including Litera Desktop. Jody’s 20 years of client relations and customer experience advocacy includes strategic account management, leading a customer-facing renewal and retention team, and contributing to consistent revenue growth as a leader and individually. Before coming to Litera, Jody worked for several years at Perfect Access Speer as a Client Relationship and Marketing Manager. Jody is one of the founding members of the Midwest Legal Technology Group, a peer-to-peer networking group in the Legal Technology space and a longtime participant and veteran of the International Legal Technology Association. Jody has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Northern Illinois University and graduate of the K1 Investment Management Advanced Management Program.

John Lofy - Managing Director

John Lofy - Managing Director

As Managing Director of Transactional, John Lofy is responsible for leading the transaction management business at Litera. He uses his extensive experience leading customer teams to deliver the market leading deal management solution and a world class customer experience to transactional deal teams across the globe – by helping them close deals faster, easier, and with less risk. Prior to joining Litera, John was a key part of senior management teams at HighQ and Lexmark Enterprise Software.

Gayle Nixon - Senior VP, Marketing

Gayle Nixon - Senior VP, Marketing

As Senior Vice President of Marketing with Litera, Gayle Nixon is responsible for leading a high-performing global marketing team. She manages all aspects of marketing, including the company’s global positioning, implementing cohesive performance-based marketing programs that strengthen engagement between customers and Litera’s premium brand. Gayle has extensive experience in creating innovative global marketing strategies that positively impact the bottom line, working across multiple enterprise software and SaaS product lines and multiple business units. Before joining Litera, Gayle worked in marketing executive leadership positions at SS&C Technologies, Rocket Software, itslearning, and Harte Hanks, where she managed a spectrum of marketing functions, such as building ROI-focused go-to-market strategies while scaling high-caliber teams. Gayle earned her MBA from Southern New Hampshire University and a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Plymouth State University.

Samir Joglekar - CRO

Samir Joglekar - CRO

As Chief Revenue Officer for Litera, Samir Joglekar is responsible for worldwide integration and alignment between all revenue-related functions. He seeks to build on Litera’s global sales success and support the dramatic increase in scale that has resulted from the company’s rapid growth. Thanks to more than 25 years of sales executive experience, Samir has deep expertise in identifying and driving strategic initiatives and best practices to support sales objectives. Before joining Litera, Samir served as CRO at Precisely, a global leader in data integrity solutions, and Executive Vice President of Sales at Renaissance Learning, a global leader in cloud-based assessment, teaching, and learning software. He has also worked in business development and sales leadership roles for inBloom, Inc., eInstruction, Dell, and Apple. Samir received a master’s degree in biomedical engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and biology from George Washington University.

Chris Vorderer - Managing Director

Chris Vorderer - Managing Director

As managing director of Litera’s Firm Intelligence business unit, Chris Vorderer is responsible for the growth, strategy, and positioning of solutions such as Foundation and Clocktimizer that transform firms’ disparate data about matters and people into usable, actionable information. Chris joined the Litera team in January 2021 as part of the Foundation Software Group acquisition. She brings over 20 years of experience working with large law firms and building customer-focused cultures at software companies such as Interface Software, Microsystems (now part of Litera), and Foundation Software Group. She is passionate about bringing great products and services to the legal market and ensuring that customers get the training, documentation, and assistance they need to successfully adopt the right solutions. Chris has an MBA from Benedictine University and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Chicago State University.

Mark Chamberlain - CFO

Mark Chamberlain - CFO

As Litera’s chief financial officer, Mark Chamberlain is responsible for maintaining the company’s financial strength and managing all aspects of accounting, finance, and legal. He serves as a member of the company’s management team, aiding in the determination of Litera’s strategic direction and growth initiatives, and is heavily involved in all aspects of M&A financial planning and execution. Mark comes to Litera with over 20 years of experience in the software industry, where he has held senior executive roles in both finance and operations, primarily with private equity-backed companies. Before Litera, Mark held finance and operations leadership roles with Ivanti, its predecessor LANDESK, Novell, and Corda Technologies. He brings expertise in guiding companies through periods of accelerated growth, having navigating several successful exits. He was also part of a senior leadership team that grew revenue from $100M to over $1B through a combination of organic and inorganic growth initiatives. Mark has an MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Brigham Young University.

Sheryl Hoskins - CEO

Sheryl Hoskins - CEO

As CEO, Sheryl is responsible for leading Litera as it scales its enterprise software businesses, delivers the best legal technology ecosystem, and revolutionizes how legal teams and law firms use technology to drive digital transformation. She drives the entire team to deliver genuinely leading-edge legal technology solutions for our customers. She strives to serve the business and its customers by helping enable our leaders and people to fulfill their passion for making a difference. Sheryl has more than twenty years of experience in the global technology industry and a proven track record managing global teams. She spent the first decade of her career at General Electric and McKesson Corp, where she held domestic and international leadership roles. Most recently, Hoskins served as CEO of Upserve. Sheryl received a BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, an MBA in Marketing, and is a US Army veteran.
