This quarter, our team has made significant updates to the Litera Drafting suite, enhancing integrations and optimizing drafting workflows. Some products that have received substantial improvements are Litera Create, Contract Companion, Litera Compare, and Litera Compare Server. Read on to learn more about key updates.
Litera Create
Litera Create is a document assembly and content library solution that allows you to create documents 85% faster, empowering lawyers to focus on higher-value work while minimizing the risk of errors.
Manage Personal User Content
We understand increasing adoption is a key goal for IT teams and administrators. Litera Create now provides the ability for administrators to manage personal user content, including:
- Managing sharing of content
- Editing properties
- Reassigning content to new owners
- Deleting content
These capabilities allow administrators to have a layer of control over the content that end users produce, increasing the quality of the content library and improving user adoption.
New External Data Integration:
NetDocuments legal professionals need access to various content repositories to leverage documents and data for drafting. Litera Create now integrates with NetDocuments as an external content source, enhancing the document drafting workflow for end users.
Build Custom Connections with Litera Create APIs
In addition to the existing external data sources integrated with Litera Create, we’ve also made it possible for organizations to build custom connections to external data sources using an API-based framework within Create.
This enhancement empowers users to pull data from any organizational data source and use it for creating documents improving the current workflow and strengthening document quality.
Track Template Design with Lifecycle and Publishing Reports
To ensure that document templates are developed and made accessible to end users for seamless document creation, administrators require insights into the various stages of template design. The new enhancements in Litera Create allow administrators to gain visibility into the template design process by producing lifecycle and publishing reports. This enables them to determine how long it takes for a template to go from “under design” to “published” and if there are any pending changes required. As a result, the organization can provide timely templates to their end users to improve document creation workflows.
Build Bates Labels
Legal professionals need the ability to identify and retrieve content from specific document pages. So, we’ve added the ability to use bates labels within Litera Create, ensuring your documents are always in line with professional and court standards.
Contract Companion
Contract Companion (part of Litera Check) is our AI-powered document proofreading solution to assist you with detecting and fixing common document issues, so you can mitigate the risk of errors and deliver accurate documents in less time.
Reimagined Workflow for Defined Terms Issues
Issues with defined terms in documents can have devastating consequences for reputation and client trust. That’s why we’ve revamped the way Contract Companion detects and shows defined terms issues, improving user experience and providing a workflow that fits the way legal professionals work.
With the new enhancements, users can choose to review their definitions and defined term issues whether in the familiar task pane or within the document while they draft.
When choosing to review in the document, the identified items are underlined with mark-up colors that can be customized by the user. The user can fix or ignore these issues while remaining in the context of the document, allowing for a streamlined workflow. Any issues with defined terms will show up in the task pane AND have underlines in mark-up colors within the document.
Addition of Canadian Terms
Last quarter, we provided the ability for Contract Companion to detect Canadian terms. This quarter, we’ve added the ability for Contract Companion to recognize terms related to Canadian Provincial and Federal legislation, empowering end users to deliver perfect documents in less time for Canadian clients.
Litera Compare
Litera Compare is our best-in-class document comparison solution that allows you to confidently capture all changes and see how your document is evolving in easy-to-read redlines.
Enhancements for Comparing iManage Documents
Our team has enhanced Litera Compare’s integration with iManage, allowing legal professionals to save time in their document comparisons and focus on higher-value work. Some key improvements include:
- Remember Last Location When Browsing for iManage Files: Busy legal professionals need ways to compare documents faster and easier. This enhancement allows end users to efficiently retrieve documents from iManage files by remembering their last iManage location, saving them time and optimizing the comparison workflow.
- No Need to Log Into iManage After a Litera Compare Reboot: Administrators can configure Litera Compare and iManage so end users can stay authenticated with Litera Compare even after reboots. This allows end users to start comparing documents instantly, instead of logging into iManage within Litera Compare, saving them time and improving user experience.
- Auto-Populate Previous Version When Comparing iManage Files: When users compare documents within Litera Compare, they must input the original and modified versions of the document. Instead of manually selecting these files, we’ve made it possible for users to pre-populate the original version of a document from iManage in Litera Compare and only select their modified version. This saves users time and allows them to compare documents faster.
Litera Compare Server
Litera Compare Server is a web service that allows server-side document comparisons and exposes APIs to integrate with a range of client applications. With Litera Compare Server, IT teams can continue to innovate while meeting user needs.
Visibility Into Changed Pages Only
When comparing lengthy and complex documents, it takes time for legal professionals to review all changes. We’ve made it easier than ever for users of Litera Compare Server to run comparisons in a browser and see, review, and export changed pages only.
Easily Compare Password Protected Documents
End users sometimes need to compare different versions of a password protected document. With this enhancement, Litera Compare Server allows them to bypass passwords for documents through an API request and empowers them to save time in generating detailed redlines of changes.
